Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (The Great Emperor Ashoka) is a popular Indian historical drama, currently airing on Colors TV. It is based on the life of the Mauryan emperor Ashoka, the first to unite what is now India under one kingdom.

Mr. Aatish Bhattacharya was chosen as an actor to portray the character of “Kannan” who was the Army Leader for the King Nirankush. His act was suitably matched as per the screen sequences…Clash with Ashoka…..Tied the cloth on Ashoka’s eyes and tied his hands….. Forced Ashoka to find his brother Vit, ….. Even scared him to run without open the eyes and find Vit otherwise expect the dire consequences…he would kill Vit…..Ruthless fighting with Ashoka……Deep strategic conversation with King Nirankush at his fort to take hold of Ashoka……Dedicatedly follow the King’s order to burn down the village where Ashoka temporary stayed.


Although the screen presence was brief, but Aatish’s villainous act was fantastic, brilliant and appreciated by the co artists.

Aatish as Mrityu Dhoot @ SuperCops vs Super Villains, Life OK Channel

 Actor Aatish played a critical role in the episode “Mritya Dand…The Deadly Book” in a TV show “Super Cops vs Super Villains” @ Life Ok Channel.

Yogesh, a Pizza delivery boy got a book…Mritya Dand that kills people who write their names in it. Yogesh become the owner of the book and with help of Mrityu Dhoot, he starts to kill the people who have mistreated throughout his life.

Although his presence in the scene was short but Aatish’s genuine effort to portray of Mrityu Dhoot was appreciated by the co stars & other artists.

ould you recall the TV ad……where a young man ...having confident look....riding a bike.....transformed himself into a successful Corporate Executive from an addabaz Unemployed one…....by enrolling himself in a vocational course from the George Telegraph on time…and subsequently a big change came….a successful career and meaningful life as a result….Yes…it is Aatish who enacted the role of the young person.

Well, this handsome man needs no introduction. Tagged by many names like romantic, heartthrob, confident, smart, he definitely has all the reasons to be No. 1. Aatish, known as “Inspector Indrajit” in Sony’s Kolkata CID Bureau or “Usman Khan” in ETV Bangla’s Durgeshnandini,  is quirky in his style and carries his own aura.

He was appointed by GTTI in 2005 and has since fronted their vocational education programme for under privileged youth successfully. He acted both in print ads and TVCs.

Contextually, The George Telegraph Training Institute (GTTI) is one of the pioneers in education in India and was established in 16th May, 1920 by late Mr. Haripad Dutta in response to the potential gravity of the unemployment problem.

The GTTI is a registered trust dedicated in providing underprivileged youth to the industry relevant training that enables them to become economically independent.  The GTTI has all along imparted education through more than forty vocational courses to the youth of the nation with the sole objective to give them a career. To name a few

The GTTI from one training centre in Sealdah, Kolkata in 1920 has expanded to 50 centres across the eastern states of India imparting training to more than 25,000 students. The objective behind the expansion is to reach the fruits of its unique vocational curriculum to the most needed in the non-metropolitan areas. The Institute is also a training partner of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Govt. of India. 

As an actor, association with a leading vocational institute for a unemployment cause is rare attainment for him. A challenging and substantial role always motivates Aatish.

Aatish as Inspector Indrajit

“C.I.D. Kolkata Bureau” is a Bengali  crime detective television series in which a spin out of the popular Hindi TV series C.I.D. It was launched in November 2012 and aired every Monday and Tuesday evenings on Sony Aath. The series had Bengali counterparts of the characters in the original show, which is successfully running since 19 years and has made the protagonist, ACP Pradyuman, a household name.

Mr. Aatish Bhattacharya was selected as actor to portrayed “Inspector  Indrajit” in the crime detective TV series.  He worked with the celebrities

"I have tried to keep the essence of the original 'CID' intact, but at the same time I have portrayed the role of the inspector in my own style," said actor Aatish Bhattacharya, who enacts the role of Inspector Indrajit, the counterpart of Senior Inspector Daya  in the original 'CID' squad.

In C.I.D Senior inspector Daya is known for his immense strength, whose name is enough to make the toughest of criminals to breakdown. One of the most famous dialogs in C.I.D is ACP Pradyuman asking him "Daya darwaaza tod do" (meaning "Daya, break the door") . This dialogue become so much popular that it is even used in the film Singham Returns which is one of most appreciated scene of the film. In C.I.D senior inspector Daya is also critical in finding the clues to solve the case. Although tough in appearance, he is also soft-mannered and sympathetic in nature who is always the first one to support team members and others when they need it the most.

Aatish aptly played the role of inspector (resembled to Daya) in CID Kolkata Bureau and popularized the name of “Inspector Indrajit’ in the mind of TV audiences with no time. His acting skill was widely appreciated by the fellow actors, critics, TV serial lovers.
